B2312 - Power Window Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The power window regulator motor assemblies are operated by the multiplex network master switch assembly, power window regulator switch assembly or rear power window regulator switch assemblies. The power window regulator motor assemblies have motor, regulator and ECU functions.

This DTC is output when the ECU built into a power window regulator motor assembly and multiplex network master switch assembly determine that the multiplex network master switch assembly, power window regulator switch assembly or rear power window regulator switch assembly is stuck.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT
If DTC B2312 is not output again after the DTC has been cleared, the DTC was output due to the switch being held.

NOTICE:
* DTC B2312 can be stored in the multiplex network master switch assembly and in each power window regulator motor assembly (power window ECU).
* If a power window regulator motor assembly has been replaced with a new one, initialize the power window control system Initialization.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2312 is not output.

NG -- CHECK DTC OUTPUT

OK -- END (DUE TO SWITCH BEING OPERATED FOR 20 SECONDS OR MORE)

2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT

(a) Check the parts which the DTCs have been output from.

B -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (D-Door Motor)

C -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (P-Door Motor)

D -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (RL-Door Motor)

E -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (RR-Door Motor)

A -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (D-Door Motor)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / D-Door Motor / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

OK:

On the Techstream screen, ON or OFF is displayed accordingly.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - DRIVER DOOR MOTOR)

OK -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Driver Door) Removal

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - DRIVER DOOR MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the multiplex network master switch assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the power window regulator motor assembly (for driver door) connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the multiplex network master switch assembly Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2312 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Driver Door) Removal

OK -- END (MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)

7. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (P-Door Motor)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / P-Door Motor / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

P-Door Motor (Power Window Regulator Motor Assembly (for Front Passenger Door))





OK:

On the Techstream screen, ON or OFF is displayed accordingly.

NG -- INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY

OK -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Door) Removal

8. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the power window regulator switch assembly Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH - FRONT PASSENGER DOOR MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the power window regulator motor assembly (for front passenger door) connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Door) Removal

10. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (RL-Door Motor)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / RL-Door Motor / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

RL-Door Motor (Power Window Regulator Motor Assembly (for Rear LH Door))





OK:

On the Techstream screen, ON or OFF is displayed accordingly.

NG -- INSPECT REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for LH Door)

OK -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Rear LH Door) Removal

11. INSPECT REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for LH Door)

(a) Remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly (for LH door) Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR LH SWITCH - REAR LH MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the power window regulator motor assembly (for rear LH door) connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Rear LH Door) Removal

13. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (RR-Door Motor)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / RR-Door Motor / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

RR-Door Motor (Power Window Regulator Motor Assembly (for Rear RH Door))





OK:

On the Techstream screen, ON or OFF is displayed accordingly.

NG -- INSPECT REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for RH Door)

OK -- REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Rear RH Door) Removal

14. INSPECT REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for RH Door)

(a) Remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly (for RH door) Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR RH SWITCH - REAR RH MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the power window regulator motor assembly (for rear RH door) connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
