Engine Overheats




Engine overheats

Check the coolant level.

Check for engine coolant leaks (from gaskets, hoses, O-rings, etc.).

Check for dirt, leaves, or insects on the radiator and A/C condenser.

Check for deteriorated coolant.

Check for a damaged or deformed fan shrouds.

Check the fan motors for proper direction of operation (blowing air toward the engine).

Inspect the fan motors Testing and Inspection or fan relays:

A/C condenser fan relay Power Relay Test

Check the radiator cap Testing and Inspection.

Check the thermostat Testing and Inspection.

Inspect the water pump Testing and Inspection.

Check for plugged or deteriorated radiator hoses.

Check for a plugged heater core or hoses.

Check for a damaged cylinder head gasket.
