Wireless headphone sound is weak, sound is distorted, there is static, volume does not change, or there is no sound in all modes

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- You may use known-good headphones from a factory installed or accessory RES, but it must be a similar vehicle (for example, do not use Odyssey RES headphones).

1. Substitute a known-good wireless headphone and recheck.

Does the symptom go away?

YES -

Replace the original wireless headphones.�

NO -

Go to step 2.

2. Check the lens on the rear edge of the rear screen for dirt or damage.

Does the rear screen appear to be in good condition?

YES -

Go to step 3.

NO -

Substitute a known-good rear controller and screen Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original rear controller and screen Service and Repair.�

3. Substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation, and recheck.

Does the symptom go away?

YES -

Replace the original audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.�

NO -

Go to step 4.

4. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector E (16P) and the rear controller and screen 24P connector.

5. Check for continuity between body ground and audio-navigation unit connector E (16P) according to the table.









Is there continuity?

YES -

There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the rear controller and screen. Replace the affected shielded harness.�

NO -

Go to step 6.

6. Check for continuity between the terminals of audio-navigation unit connector E (16P) according to the table.









Is there continuity between any of the terminals?

YES -

There is a short in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the rear controller and screen. Replace the affected shielded harness.�

NO -

Go to step 7.

7. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector E (16P) and rear controller and screen 24P connector according to the table.









Is there continuity?

YES -

Substitute a known-good rear controller and screen Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original rear controller and screen Service and Repair.�

NO -

There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the rear controller and screen. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
