Right rear door switch circuit troubleshooting
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. With the right rear door closed, select SECURITY with the HDS, and enter the DATA LIST.
3. Check the ON/OFF information of the PASSENGER'S REAR DOOR SWITCH in the DATA LIST.
Is information indicator ON?
YES -
Go to step 4.
NO -
Go to step 10.
4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
5. Remove the right rear door switch.
6. Disconnect the right rear door switch 1P connector.
7. Check for continuity between right rear door switch 1P connector and switch ground.
Is there no continuity when the switch pushed and is there continuity when the switch released?
YES -
Go to step 8.
NO -
Replace the right rear door switch.
8. Disconnect under-dash fuse/relay box connector E (42P).
9. Check for continuity between under-dash fuse/relay box connector E (42P) terminal No. 2 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to ground in the wire.
NO -
Faulty MICU, replace the under-dash fuse/relay box Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation.
10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
11. Remove the right rear door switch.
12. Disconnect right rear door switch 1P connector.
13. Check for continuity between right rear door switch 1P connector and switch ground.
Is there no continuity when the switch pushed and is there continuity when the switch released?
YES -
Go to step 14.
NO -
Replace the right rear door switch.
14. Connect under-dash fuse/relay box connector E (42P) terminal No. 2 and body ground with a jumper wire.
15. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
16. Check the ON/OFF information of the PASSENGER'S REAR DOOR SWITCH in the DATA LIST.
Is information indicator ON?
YES -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
NO -
Faulty MICU, replace the under-dash fuse/relay box Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation.
