Carpet: Service and Repair




Carpet Replacement

Special Tools Required

- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Be careful not to damage the dashboard or the interior trim.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.

1. Remove these items:

- Front seats, both sides Front Seat Removal / Installation
- Rear seat cushion
- Front door sill trim, both sides
- Rear door sill trim, both sides
- Kick panels, both sides
- B-pillar lower trim, both sides
- Driver's dashboard undercover Driver's Dashboard Undercover Removal / Installation
- Passenger's dashboard undercover Passenger's Dashboard Undercover Removal / Installation
- Center console Center Console Removal / Installation
- Steering joint cover
- Stereo amplifier
- With ELS audio Stereo Amplifier Removal / Installation (With Navigation System)
- With premium audio Stereo Amplifier Removal / Installation (Without Navigation System)

- Navigation unit, with navigation Service and Repair

2. Detach the clips, then remove the footrest (A).






3. Remove the clip, then remove the rear heater joint (A).





4. Disconnect the connectors in the dashboard lower middle portion.

5. Remove the bolts (A, B), then remove the dashboard center brackets (C).






6. Remove the bolts of the A/T shift lever bracket (A), then separate the A/T shift lever bracket from the center frame (B) by moving it to the driver's side. Do not disconnect of the A/T shift cable.






7. Remove the clips and release the Velcro fastener (A), then pull back the front carpet (B) from under the dashboard.






8. Release the hook (A) that is just under the arrow mark (B) on the floor mat holder (C) by prying the holder with a flat-tip screwdriver, and remove the holder through the slit (D) in the carpet (E).






9. Remove the clips, then pull up the rear carpet from under the rear seat side bolster on both sides. Pull back the rear carpet (A), and remove it.






10. Install the front carpet and the rear carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the front and the rear carpets.
- Make sure the floor wire harnesses are routed correctly.
- Slip the rear carpet under both the rear seat side bolster.
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the fasteners, clips, and the Velcro fastener into place securely.
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the bolts securing the center brackets and the dashboard center frame before reinstallation.
- If necessary, adjust the A/T shift cable Adjustments.
