Dashboard Replacement
Special Tools Required
- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

NOTE:
- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the dashboard.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard or the related parts.
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
2. Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides Front Seat Removal / Installation
- Center console Center Console Removal / Installation
- Steering column Steering Column Removal/Installation
- Driver's switch panel Dashboard Driver's Switch Panel Removal / Installation
- Upper dashboard panel Upper Dashboard Panel Removal / Installation
- Glove box Glove Box Removal / Installation
- Driver's dashboard undercover Driver's Dashboard Undercover Removal / Installation
- Passenger's dashboard undercover Passenger's Dashboard Undercover Removal / Installation
- Audio unit
- With ELS audio Audio Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation System)
- With premium audio Audio Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation System)
- Navigation display unit, with navigation Service and Repair
- Audio-HVAC display unit, with premium audio Audio-HVAC Display Unit Removal/Installation
- Front center speaker, with ELS audio
- Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit, with ELS audio Audio-HVAC Subdisplay Unit Removal/Installation
- Sunlight sensor Service and Repair
- In-car temperature sensor Service and Repair
- A-pillar trim, both sides
- Kick panels, both sides
3. Pry up on the front bottom edge of the dashboard side lid (A) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips. Gently pull out to release the hooks (B), then remove the lid. Repeat on the other side of the dashboard.
Driver's side
4. With navigation: Remove the screws, then remove the GPS antenna bracket (A), then push out the antenna through the hole in the dashboard.
Center
5. Detach the wire harness clip (A) from the center upper dashboard panel opening.
6. Detach the wire harness clips (A) from the center panel opening.
Passenger's side
7. Disconnect the AM/FM antenna sublead 2P connector (A), and detach the wire harness clips (B) from the glove box opening.
8. Carefully pry the glove box light (C) from the inside of the dashboard, and detach the wire harness clips (D).
9. From the front of the dashboard (A), remove the screws (B) and the bolts (C).
10. Lift up on the dashboard (A) to release it from the guide pins (B), then carefully remove the dashboard through the front door opening.
NOTE: Do not rest the dashboard on its lower console opening or it may be damaged. Lay it on its front or back.
11. Install the dashboard in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly.
- Before tightening the bolts, make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Push the clips into place securely.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
