Timing Belt: Testing and Inspection
Inspection
1. Remove the valve cover.
2. Remove the timing belt upper cover.
3. Inspect the timing belt for cracks and oil soaking.
NOTE:
- Replace the belt if oil soaked.
- Remove any oil or solvent that gets on the belt.
4. If the pulley bolt loosens while turning the crank, retorque it to 120 N.m (12.0 kg.m, 87 lb.ft).
