Transmission Control Systems: Description and Operation
The automatic transmission is a combination of a three element torque converter with a lock-up clutch and a tri-shaft electronically controlled automatic transmission which provides four forward speeds and one reverse speed. The entire unit is positioned in line with the engine.The electronic control system consists of a transmission control module (TCM), sensors, and tour solenoid valves. Shifting and lock-up are electronically controlled for comfortable driving under all conditions.
