NOTE: Check for loose terminals.

1. Check that navigation unit connector D (5P) is connected to the navigation unit.
2. Start the vehicle and push "OK" on the disclaimer screen.
3. Do the Start-up procedure in the Picture Diagnosis Test, then select Trip Diag.

Is the Fuel Vref A/D between 745 - 1000, and is the Fuel Vmeas A/D between 80 - 580?

YES - Replace the navigation unit.

NO - Go to step 4.

4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. Disconnect gauge assembly connector A (30P) and navigation unit connector D (5P).
6. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).




7. Measure the voltage between navigation unit connector D (5P) terminal No.4 and body ground.

Is there voltage?

YES - Repair short to power in the wire between the navigation unit and the gauge assembly.

NO - Go to step 8.

8. Turn the ignition switch OFF.




9. Check for continuity between navigation unit connector D (5P) terminal No.4 and body ground.

Is there continuity?

YES - Repair short to body ground in the wire between the navigation unit and the gauge assembly.

NO - Go to step 10.




10. Check for continuity between navigation unit connector D (5P) terminal No.4 and gauge assembly connector A (30P) terminal No.2.

Is there continuity?

YES - Go to step 11.

NO - Repair open in the wire between the navigation unit and the gauge assembly.

11. Disconnect gauge assembly connector C (14P).
12. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).




13. Measure the voltage between navigation unit connector D (5P) terminal No.3 and body ground.

Is there voltage?

YES - Repair short to power in the wire between the navigation unit and gauge assembly.

NO - Go to step 14.

14. Turn the ignition switch OFF.




15. Check for continuity between navigation unit connector D (5P) terminal No.3 and body ground.

Is there continuity?

YES - Repair short to body ground in the wire between the navigation unit and the gauge assembly.

NO - Go to step 16.




16. Check for continuity between navigation unit connector D (5P) terminal No. 3 and gauge assembly connector B (14P) terminal No.6.

Is there continuity?

YES - Go to step 17.

NO - Repair open in the wire between the navigation unit and the gauge assembly.

17. Substitute a known-good navigation unit and recheck.

Does the system work properly?

YES - Replace the navigation unit.

NO - Replace the gauge assembly.
