TPMS Indicator Does Not Come On, and No DTCs Are Stored

TPMS Indicator does not come on, and no DTCs are stored
1. Check the fuse No. 9 (10 A) in the driver's underdash fuse/relay box and fuse No. 11 (10 A) in the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box ('04 model) or fuse No. 10 (7.5 A) in the under-hood subfuse box ('05 model).
2. Command the system with the HDS to turn the TPMS indicators on.
Does the TPMS indicator come on?
YES-Go to step 3.
NO-Go to step 4.
3. Clear the DTC, then turn the ignition switch ON (II), and watch the TPMS indicator.
Does the TPMS indicator come on?
YES-The system is OK at this time.
NO-Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the TPMS control unit. If necessary, substitute a known-good TPMS control unit and recheck.
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then turn the ignition switch ON (II) again and watch the low pressure and tire indicators.
Do the indicators come on for several seconds?
YES-Go to step 5.
NO-Go to step 9.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then disconnect the TPMS control unit connector B (22P).





6. With a jumper wire, connect terminal No. 8 in TPMS control unit connector B (22P) and body ground and turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Does the TPMS indicator come on?
YES-Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the TPMS control unit. If necessary, substitute a known-good TPMS control unit and recheck.
NO-Go to step 7.
7. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then disconnect the jumper wire.





8. With a jumper wire, connect terminal No. 29 in gauge assembly connector A (30P) to body ground and turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Does the TPMS indicator come on?
YES-Repair open in the wire between terminal No. 8 in TPMS control unit connector B (22P) and terminal No. 29 in gauge assembly connector A (30P).
NO-Do the troubleshooting for the gauge assembly.





9. With the ignition switch OFF, measure the voltage between terminal No. 5 in TPMS control unit connector A (12P) and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES-Go to step 10.
NO-Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the TPMS control unit. If necessary, substitute a known-good TPMS control unit and recheck.
10. Disconnect TPMS control unit connector A (12P).





11. With the ignition switch OFF, measure the voltage between terminal No. 5 in TPMS control unit connector A (12P) and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES-Repair the short between the wires to the TPMS control unit from fuse No. 9 (10 A) in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box (YEL), and the fuse No. 11 (10 A) in the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box (WHT/BLU) ('04 model) or the fuse No. 10 (7.5 A) in the under-hood subfuse box (WHT/GRN) ('05 model).
NO-Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the TPMS control unit. If necessary, substitute a known-good TPMS control unit and recheck.
