TITLE: Navigation System Personal Info Grayed Out and DPMS Inoperative

SERVICE TIP:

If the keyless access remote transmitter for a '05 RL is unlinked, the navigation system setup item personal information looks grayed out. You can't access your PIN, personal address book, calendar, home destination, audio presets, or any of the Driver's Position Memory System (DPMS) settings.

To check if the keyless access remote transmitter is linked or unlinked, lock the doors, and then unlock them with the remote transmitter. Now, turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- If the keyless access remote transmitter is linked, you'll see WELCOME DRIVER 1 or WELCOME DRIVER 2 on the MID.
- If the keyless access remote transmitter is unlinked, you'll just see WELCOME on the MID.

To link and unlink the keyless access remote transmitter, just press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time until the LED blinks. The LED blinks twice when linked or once when unlinked. Once the keyless access remote is linked, you must then lock or unlock the vehicle with that remote. This synchronizes the keyless access remote to the vehicle's customized settings and preferences.
