Rear Safing Sensor Replacement

Removal

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures then wait for 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Disconnect both side curtain airbag 2P connectors. Service and Repair

3. Remove the second row seat. Second Row Seat Removal/Installation

4. Lift the carpet as needed to access the rear safing sensor.

5. Disconnect the floor wire harness 4P connector (A) from the rear safing sensor.

6. Remove the TORX bolt (B) using a TORX T30 bit, then remove the rear safing sensor (C).






Installation

1. Install the new rear safing sensor with the TORX bolt (A) then connect the floor wire harness 4P connector (B) to the rear safing sensor (C).

2. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures

3. After installing the rear safing sensor, confirm proper system operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.

4. Install all removed parts.
