DTC Troubleshooting: U128B

DTC U128B:

Gauge Control Module Lost Communication With Power Control Unit

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF, ACC, ON, and OFF mode.

3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC U128B indicated?

YES -

Go to the power control unit input test, and do all power, ground, and communication input tests Keyless Access System (Keyless Access Control Unit, Keyless Access Remote Slot Control Unit, and Power Control Unit) Input Test. If the tests prove OK, replace the power control unit Keyless Access System (Keyless Access Control Unit, Keyless Access Remote Slot Control Unit, and Power Control Unit) Input Test.�

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at power control unit connector C (36P) and the related units.�
