Speaker Test/Replacement (With ELS Audio System)




Speaker Test/Replacement

Front Door Speaker

1. Remove the front door panel. Front Door Panel Removal/Installation

2. Remove the bolt (A), then lift the speaker (B) straight up to release the lower clips (C).
NOTICE:
If you pull the speaker out too far from the door, you will damage the lower clips.

3. Disconnect the 2P connector (D), and remove the speaker.

4. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.
- With ELS audio system, there should be about 2 Ohms.

- With premium audio system, there should be about 4 Ohms.

5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the door speaker.






Front Center Speaker (with ELS audio system)

1. Remove the speaker lid. Dashboard Speaker Cover Removal/Installation

2. Remove the bolts (A), then pull out the front center speaker (B).

3. Disconnect the connector (C), and remove the front center speaker.

4. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be about 4 Ohms.

5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the front center speaker.






Front Door Tweeter

1. Detach the clips (A) and remove the front door tweeter cover (B). Then disconnect the connector (C).






2. Remove the tweeter (A) from the front door tweeter cover (B). With ELS audio system, check the capacitor (C) condition. If any problems are found, replace the front door tweeter.






3. Measure the resistance between the tweeter (A) terminal as shown.
- With ELS audio system:
Measure the resistance between front door tweeter 2P connector terminal No. 2 and the outside terminal of the capacitor. There should be about 6 Ohms.

- With premium audio system:
Measure the resistance between front door tweeter 2P connector terminal No. 1 and No. 2. There should be about 3.3 Ohms.

4. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the front door tweeter.

With ELS audio system





With premium audio system





Rear Speaker

1. Remove the rear speaker grille. Service and Repair

2. Remove the mounting bolt (A), then tilt the speaker (B) forward to release the front clips (C).
NOTICE:
If you pull the speaker out too far from the rear bulkhead, you will damage the lower clips.

3. Disconnect the connector (D), and remove the rear speaker.

4. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.
- With ELS audio system, there should be about 2 Ohms.

- With premium audio system, there should be about 4 Ohms.

5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the rear speaker.






Rear Door Speaker (with ELS audio system)

1. Remove the rear door panel. Rear Door Panel Removal/Installation

2. Remove the bolt (A). Then lift the speaker (B) straight up to release the lower clips (C).
NOTICE:
If you pull the speaker out too far from the door, you will damage the lower clips.

3. Disconnect the connector (D), and remove the speaker.

4. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be about 2 Ohms.

5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the door speaker.






Subwoofer

1. Remove the rear shelf. Service and Repair

2. Remove the four mounting bolts (A) from the subwoofer (B).

3. Disconnect the connector (C), and remove the subwoofer.

4. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be about 2 Ohms.

5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the subwoofer.
