Rear Lower Arm B Removal/Installation
1. Raise and support the vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the rear wheel.
3. Remove the muffler (A) from the muffler hangers (B).
4. Remove the flange nut (A) while holding the joint pin (C) with a hex wrench (D), and disconnect the stabilizer link (E) from lower arm B.
5. Position a floor jack under the lower arm B.
Raise the floor jack until the suspension begins to compress.
6. Remove the flange bolt (A) from the bottom of the damper.
NOTE: Use the new flange bolt during reassembly.
7. Remove the flange bolt (C) from the knuckle.
NOTE: Use the new flange bolt during reassembly.
8. Lower the floor jack gradually.
9. Remove the spring (A) and the lower spring seat (C).
NOTE: During installation, align the bottom of the spring with the stepped part of the lower spring seat and the lower arm B as shown.
10. Mark the cam positions of the adjusting bolt (A) and adjusting cam plate (C), then remove the self-locking nut (D), adjusting cam plate, and adjusting bolt.
NOTE: Use the new self-locking nut and the new adjusting bolt during reassembly.
11. Remove the lower arm B.
12. Install the lower arm B in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- First install all of the suspension components, and lightly tighten the bolts and nuts, then raise the suspension to load it with the vehicle's weight before fully tightening to the specified torque.
- Align the cam positions of the adjusting bolt and the adjusting cam plate with the marked positions when tightening.
- Before installing the wheel, clean the mating surfaces of the brake disc/drum and the inside of the wheel.
13. Check the wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary Service and Repair.
