Rear Differential Installation
1. Place the rear differential on a transmission jack.
2. Install a new set ring (A) into the groove (B) of the rear differential left side.
3. If the original differential is being reinstalled, replace the set rings.
4. Raise the rear differential to the appropriate position on the transmission jack.
5. Connect the ground cable (A) to the rear differential.
6. Connect the left solenoid 4P connector (B), then install the harness clips (C).
7. Raise the rear differential a little on the transmission jack.
8. Connect the breather hose (A) to the breather pipe (B).
9. Connect the right solenoid 4P connector (C) and the rear differential fluid temperature sensor 2P connector (D), then install the harness clips (E).
10. Raise the rear differential to the mounting level.
11. Apply appropriate grease to the left rear driveshaft inboard joint.
12. Insert the left rear driveshaft inboard joint (A) into the rear differential.
13. Temporarily install the rear differential front mounting bracket bolts (B).
14. Loosen the rear differential front mounting bolts (C).
15. Install the new rear differential rear mounting bolts (D and E) and tighten them to the specified torque in the sequence shown.
16. Replace the rear differential front mounting bolts, and tighten them to the specified torque.
17. Tighten the rear differential front mounting bracket bolts to the specified torque.
18. Attach the propeller shaft (A) to the rear differential (B) by aligning the reference marks (C) you made during the removal procedure.
19. Install the right rear driveshaft Rear Driveshaft Installation.
20. Install a new gasket (A) and the muffler (B) with new nuts (C).
21. Install the rear wheels.
22. Install the spare tire.
23. Refill the rear differential with the recommended fluid.
24. Check the wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary Service and Repair.
25. Test-drive the vehicle.
