Hood Opener Cable Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body or the related parts.
- Take care not to kink the hood opener cable.

1. Remove these items:

- Front bumper Service and Repair
- Front inner fender, driver's side Front Inner Fender Replacement
- Kick panel, driver's side

2. Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B) Service and Repair, and remove the hood release handle (C) Hood Release Handle Replacement.





3. Detach the clips with a clip remover, release the hood opener cable from the clip, and remove the grommet (D) from the body, then remove the hood opener cable from the vehicle.

4. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Route the cable through the hole in the body.
- Make sure the hood opens properly and locks securely.
- Push the clips into place securely.
