A/T Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Valve A and B Replacement

1. Do the battery removal procedure Removal and Replacement.

2. Remove the air cleaner Service and Repair.

3. Remove the battery base.

4. Remove the spring clip (A) and the control pin (B), then separate the shift cable end (C) from the selector control lever (D).





5. Remove the nuts securing the shift cable bracket (E).

6. Check the bushing (F) in the shift cable end for proper fit and wear. If the bushing is loose or worn, replace the shift cable Service and Repair.

7. Disconnect the input shaft (mainshaft) speed sensor connector (A), the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor connector (B), the transmission fluid pressure switch B (3rd clutch) connector (C), and the ATF temperature sensor connector (D).






8. Disconnect the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A connector (A), the solenoid valve B connector (B), and the shift solenoid harness connector (C).





9. Remove the bolt securing the harness cover (D).

10. Remove A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valves A and B, the ATF pipes (C), the gasket (D), and the O-rings (E).





11. Clean the mounting surfaces and the fluid passage of the solenoid valve cover.

12. Install a new solenoid valve body gasket on the solenoid valve cover, and install the ATF pipes with the filter end in the transmission housing. Install new O-rings over the ATF pipes.

13. Install A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valves A and B.

14. Secure the harness cover with the bolt.

15. Check the connectors for rust, dirt, or oil, and clean or repair if necessary, then connect the connectors securely.

16. Apply molybdenum grease to the hole in the bushing in the shift cable end, then install the shift cable bracket with the nuts.

17. Attach the shift cable end to the selector control lever, then insert the control pin into the selector control lever hole through the shift cable end, and secure the control pin with the spring clip.

18. Install the battery base.

19. Install the air cleaner Service and Repair.

20. Do the battery installation procedure Removal and Replacement.
