Power Tailgate Control Unit Input Test/Replacement

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

2. Remove the left cargo area side trim panel .

3. Disconnect power tailgate connector A (5P), B (20P), and C (14P) from the power tailgate control unit (D) in the order shown.

NOTE: All connector views shown are the wire side of the female terminals






4. Inspect all the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.

- If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 5.

5. Reconnect all connectors to the power tailgate control unit, and do the following input tests:

- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, replace the power tailgate control unit.

NOTE: After replacement, open and close the tailgate by auto operation and wait for 5 seconds. Repeat this procedure 5 times or more for proper operation.






6. Reset the power tailgate control unit Programming and Relearning.
