Engine: Service Precautions

When conducting the following engine disassembly and assembly procedures, place disassembled components neatly on a clean workbench or equivalent. Lubricate all seals. Note location of the different size attaching bolts used and do not interchange or use substandard bolts. Ensure to correctly align timing marks when removing the timing belt, camshaft and cylinder head assembly. Use caution so as not to disturb the alignment marks during assembly. Due to the overhead camshaft design of the 4 and 5 cylinder engines, do not rotate crankshaft when these components are removed or serious engine damage will result.
