Ignition Cable

RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

IGNITION COIL:

NOTE: One of two types of ignition coils are used on vehicles with CIS fuel injection systems.

Primary Resistance - both types (measured between coil terminals 1 & 15)
RESISTANCE: 0.5 - 1.5 ohms

Secondary Resistance - both types (measured between coil terminals 1 & 4)
RESISTANCE: 5K - 9K ohms

IGNITION WIRES AND CONNECTORS:

COIL WIRE (with radio)
Resistance (with radio) 2000 +/- 800 ohms
Resistance (with radio) 0 ohms

SPARK PLUG WIRES
Resistance (with radio) 6000 +/- 1400 ohms
Resistance (with radio) 1000 +/- 400 ohms

If resistance is not within specification, check individual components.

SPARK PLUG CONNECTORS (with radio)
Resistance (with radio) 5000 +/- 1000 ohms
Resistance (with radio) 1000 +/- 400 ohms

CAP CONNECTORS
Resistance 1000 +/- 400 ohms

IGNITION WIRES (without connectors)
Resistance 0 ohms

DISTRIBUTOR ROTOR:

Measured between tip of electrode and center contact.

Resistance Approx. 1K ohms
