Oil Pump: Service and Repair

1. Loosen alternator, A/C compressor and power steering pump belts.
2. Unbolt power steering pump and set aside. Do not disconnect hoses.
3. Remove timing belt, refer to TIMING BELT.
4. Remove oil dip stick, drain engine oil, then remove both sub frame bolts.
5. Turn flywheel so that recesses are pointing down, then remove vibration dampener, drive belt sprocket and oil pan.
6. Remove oil pickup tube, then the idler pulley securing bolt.
7. Remove oil pump.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten bolts to specifications.
