Climate Control Components, Engine Compartment
NOTE:
- Always check and erase DTC memory, perform basic setting and check -E87- coding after performing repairs.
- Discharging refrigerant system.
- A/C system cooling performance test.
- Refrigerant system pressure test.
- Refrigerant circuit.
- All components marked with * are actuated during Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).
- Electrical testing is possible on all components marked with **.
1 - Air extraction vent
- Sealing lips of air extraction vent must operate freely and close by themselves, checking.
NOTE: For proper air extraction, the air guides (rear shelf sides) to the two air extraction slots (on left and right below the rear bumper trim) must not be blocked.
2 - Compressor (Zexel)
- Removing and installing ribbed drive belt
- Removing and installing compressor mounting bracket
CAUTION!
Refrigerant system must be discharged prior to removal or replacement of compressor.
3 - A/C compressor speed sender -G111-**
CAUTION!
Refrigerant system must be discharged and compressor removed prior to removal or replacement of -G111-.
4 - A/C clutch -N25-*
5 - Condenser
CAUTION!
Refrigerant system must be discharged prior to removal or replacement of condenser.
6 - Outside air temperature sensor -G17-**
- Removing and installing:
- Remove front bumper, separate electrical connection and un-clip sensor from mount in air guide.
7 - A/C refrigerant high pressure switch -F23-/-F118-)**
- Both switch functions are incorporated into a single housing
8 - Service valve (high pressure)
- Installed on condensor inlet line
- Used for checking system pressure, discharging, evacuating and recharging system
- Cap with seal must be on when not performing service
9 - Accumulator
CAUTION!
Refrigerant system must be discharged prior to replacement of accumulator
10 - Evaporator housing drain valve
11 - A/C refrigerant low pressure switch -F73-**
12 - Fresh air intake duct temperature sensor -G89-**
13 - Air flow flap
- Removing and installing Air flow flap motor -V71-* with potentiometer -G113-
14 - Dust and pollen filter
NOTE: The dust and pollen filter should be replaced at regular intervals.
