Ribbed belt drive, checking and adjusting

Identifying, Application and ID

- Remove ribbed belt, refer to Ribbed Belt/Removing and Installing Drive Belt
- Remove idler roller.






- Fit alignment gauge 3263 to vibration damper pulley and press against grooves of A/C compressor pulley.

Note: Misalignment of more than 0.4 mm (0.076 in) will cause belt wear and noise. If misalignment exceeds 0.4 mm (0.076 in):

- Remove noise insulation panel from underneath.
- Loosen four bolts of A/C compressor.
- Move compressor so that the alignment gauge can be positioned against grooves of compressor pulley.
- Tighten A/C compressor mounting bolts.

Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
