Procedures







Removing Cap
- Remove circlip -A-.
- Insert M8 bolt into tapped hole of cap -B- and remove cap.






Removing Flanged Shaft
- Pull circlip apart when removing flanged shaft.
- Insert circlip at same time as installing flanged shaft.

Note: Do not over-stretch the circlip; it must be fully seated in the base of the groove.






Removing Torsen Differential
- Place thrust piece 3002 through hole (arrow) and onto Torsen differential.






Removing Grooved Ball Bearing For Torsen Differential
- A = Separating device, 22-115 mm, e.g. Kukko 17/2






Removing Grooved Ball Bearing For Flanged Shaft






Removing Needle Bearing
- Needle bearings for pinion/hollow shaft and for flanged shaft are withdrawn with -A- Internal extractor, e.g. Kukko 21/4 23.5-30 mm






Inserting Needle Bearing
- Needle bearings for pinion/hollow shaft and for flanged shaft are pressed in with VW 421.

Note: Pay attention to different insertion depth: described below.






Insertion Depth Of Needle For Pinion/hollow Shaft
- Dimension -a- = 32.5 mm (1.28 in.)






Insertion Depth Of Needle Bearing For Flanged Shaft
- Dimension -a- = 14 mm (0.55 in.)






Pressing On Grooved Ball Bearing For Torsen Differential






Pressing In Grooved Ball Bearing For Flanged Shaft






Knocking In Seal
- Knock in seal to position 2 mm (0.08 in.) below inner edge of cover.






Pressing In Torsen Differential
