Assembly

NOTE: Removing steering wheel Service and Repair

WARNING!
- Before servicing any part of the vehicle electrical system, always disconnect the battery ground strap.
Up to 1995 models:
- Before working on any airbag or steering column component, always disconnect the airbag voltage supply connector. Disconnecting the battery ground strap alone will not prevent accidental airbag release.
From 1996 models:
- The single-pin airbag voltage supply connector is eliminated.
- It is only necessary to disconnect the battery ground strap.
- All other airbag system safety precautions are still applicable.

CAUTION!
Before removing the steering column, position steering wheel straight ahead, and remove steering wheel first. (This will ensure that the spiral spring in steering wheel is not damaged.)
