Using the OTC Oil Service Reset Tool

Operation steps for testing Audi

OTC Oil Reset Tool:








Setting up:
Attach the VASS connector cable or OBD-II diagnostic cable to the tool 15-pin connector, and then plug into the vehicle diagnostic socket properly.

Vehicle Diagnostic Socket Location for Reference





1. Located under the dust cover of the gear lever or at right side of upper cover of gear lever. Remove the dust cover, you will see a 16-pole diagnostic socket. Plug VW . AUDI adapter cable (16-pole) for the tool into the diagnostic socket.





2. Located at left up corner of the engine compartment, in the fuse box. Open the fuse box, you will see a black 2-pole diagnostic socket.

3. The black 2-pin diagnostic socket is power socket, plug black terminal of adapter cable (2-pole) for the tool into it. The white 2-pole diagnostic socket is signal socket. Plug white terminal of adapter cable (2-pole) into it.

A3,A4
The vehicle socket is located on the rear seat beside the ashtray.

100, A6, A8 (1990-1997)
The vehicle socket is located in the engine compartment, under driver side, in the fuse box.

Starting:
1. Turn Ignition ON and Engine OFF.





2. Move STAR cursor to AUDI and then press button E.





3. Move STAR cursor to selectA3 and then press button E.





5. Use the arrow keys to select channel number, and then press button E.





There are four service interval indicator types for the maintenance system Oil Service, Inspection I Distance, Inspection I Time and Inspection II Time. Select a correct channel number before reset the distance or time. Refer to vehicle service manuals for this information, or refer to the channel list above.





NOTE:
1. Display will appear Channel Number Invalid! Check to see if the Channel Number Selected is incorrect.
2. *If channel 5, 6, or 7 does not reset use channel 10, 11, 12. Some cars may not support a channel#. So try another channel#.




To Reset Oil Service light use channel 5 or 10

6. When the screen appears the previous old value (KM), press button E to enter a new value for the next Oil Service interval by using the arrow keys to reach the value, then press button E again for confirmation of the new Oil Service interval.

NOTE: Press arrow key one time for plus or minus 1,000 KM. The maximum is up to 255,000 KM.

To Rest Inspection I Distance use channel 6 or 11.





7. Press button R to return to the Channel Number select screen for other functions selection.
- For Inspection I Distance:

NOTE: Press arrow key one time for plus or minus 1,000 KM. The maximum is up to 255,000 KM.





To Reset Inspection I Time use channel To:12.

NOTE: Press arrow key one time for plus or minus 10 days. The maximum is up to 2,550 days.





To Reset Inspection II Time use channel 8

NOTE: Press arrow key one time for plus or minus 10 days. The maximum is up to 2,550 days.
