Convertible Top Control Module: Testing and Inspection

- Switch ignition off.
- Remove convertible top control module -J256-.
- Connect VAG1598/11 adapter or VAG1598/12 between convertible top control module -J256- and wiring harness.
- Connect VAG1598 test box to respective adapter for measurement.


CAUTION!
When using VAG1598/11 adapter, VAG1598 test box socket numbering is NOT the same as convertible top control module connector numbering See chart below.


VAG1598 test box socket numbering
- The terminal numbering of convertible top control module connectors A and B does not correspond to the socket numbering on the VAG1598 test box when using the VAG1598/11 adapter.
- Terminal numbering of convertible top control module connector D is identical to socket numbering on VAG1598 test box when using VAG1598/12 adapter.

The following table shows convertible top control module connector numbering and the corresponding VAG1598 test box sockets using the VAG1598/11 adapter.
