Belt-Fastened Sensor For Rear 3- Point Belts With Belt Tensioner, Checking


Connect VAG 1551 or 1552 scan tool and go into measuring value block 4.
- Belt fully retracted

Display on scan tool -NO-.
- Latch plate engaged in buckle and belt pulled out by the amount specified (distance -L-):

Display on scan tool -YES-.
- Pull out belt as far as it will go. The display should remain on-YES- as the belt is pulled out.
- Then retract belt as far as distance -L- but do not release latch plate yet; display on VAG tester should remain on -YES-.
- Release latch plate and slowly retract webbing; the display should switch from -YES- to -NO- at the latest when the belt has retracted as far as the last 100 mm.

Belt fully retracted: display on VAG tester -NO-.
- On sedan models, distance -L- is 250 mm for left and right belts; transverse belt adjuster set to center position.
- On Avant models, distance -L- is 220 mm for left and right belts; transverse belt adjuster set to center position.
- On sedan and Avant models, distance -L- for center belt is 500 mm.
