General Safety Guidelines

WARNING:
- Test, installation and service operations must only be performed by properly qualified personnel
- When connecting the seat belt tensioner unit, all mechanical parts including those of the three-point seat belt must be correctly attached.
- Only the person carrying out this work must be present inside the car.
- The Bowden cable must not be kinked or bent more than 270 degrees.
- Seat belt tensioner components must not be opened or repaired; always use new parts in all cases.
- Seat belt tensioner units which have fallen onto the ground must not be installed or re4nstalled into the car.
- Seat belt tensioner units which have suffered mechanical damage (dents, cracks) must always be replaced.
- The seat belt tensioner unit should not be removed from its container until just before it is to be installed.
- If the installation work is interrupted, return the seat belt tensioner unit to it's container.
- The open end of the seat belt tensioner must never be pointed toward a person.


WARNING:
- Always wash your hands after touching seat belt tensioners which have been activated.
- The storage and the transportation of seatbelt tensioners is covered by the Explosives Act.
- Deployed seat belt tensioners do not have to be disposed of as hazardous waste, but can be discarded in a normal manner. It is recommended, however, that deployed seat belt tensioners be recycled.
- Do not leave a seat belt tensioner unit unattended.
- The seat belt tensioner unit must not be treated with grease, cleaners or similar products.
- The seat belt tensioner unit must not be exposed to temperatures in excess of 100°C, flying sparks or open flames.
