The hands-free speaker is briefly supplied with current (not audible). The hands-free speaker is only connected directly to the navigation control module if no radio system is installed, the output Diagnostic test Mode (DTM) only makes sense in this case.

If a radio system (without BOSE) is installed, front left speaker is used for voice output. For vehicles with BOSE-sound system, the voice output occurs via the radio to the hands-free speaker.

NOTE: The malfunction type "short circuit of wires to each other" for the hands-free speaker can only be detected via the output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM). If this malfunction occurs, it is stored in DTC memory (00851).
