Output Diagnostic Test Mode (function 03), Vehicles From 18.99 On:

The Output Diagnostic Test Mode checks the function of the crash output signal. Airbag triggering simultaneously causes central locking to be switched to "Open", internal switch to be blocked and fuel supply to be interrupted. Hazard warning lights and interior lights come on.


NOTE:
- Before performing Output Diagnostic Test Mode, set central locking to "Closed" (actuate internal switch) and start engine.
- Set interior light switch to "Door contact" position.
- On completion of Output Diagnostic Test Mode, operation of central locking is not reactivated until DTC Memory of central locking control module has been erased.

Signal: Open central locking


Engine must cut out.
Central locking must switch to "Open".
Hazard warning lights and interior lights come on.
- Actuate internal switch. Central locking must not return to "Closed".


NOTE:
- Fault 01366 is stored in DTC Memory of central locking control module after performing the above step.
- On completion of Output Diagnostic Test Mode, DTC Memory of central locking control module must be checked end this fault erased.
- This step leads to several faults being stored in the DTC Memory of the engine control module.
- On completion of Output Diagnostic Test Mode, DTC Memory of engine control module must be checked and these faults erased. Depending on ignition and injection system in Workshop Manual in Repair Group: 01 On Board Diagnostic (OBD); Checking and Erasing DTC Memory.
- Fuel cut-off is being gradually introduced as of calendar week 18.99 depending on engine version.
- If engine does not cut out, check whether fuel cut-off function has been implemented in engine control module.
- If engine does not cut out and fuel cut-off function has been implemented in engine control module, check wiring to engine control module.
