0.35 Square mm Wiring, Repairing

0.35 sq mm Wiring, Repairing

NOTE:
- Repair set VAS 1978 includes repair wires of three different thickness (0.5 sq mm, 1.5sq mm and 4.0sq mm cross sections), with corresponding crimp connectors.
- Use 0.5sq mm repair wire to repair 0.35sq mm wiring.
- Perform repair as follows:

- Use stripping pliers to strip twice the length of the ends of the 0.35sq mm wire (approx. 12 to 14 mm).
- Fold back half the stripped wire ends.
- Use stripping pliers to strip ends of 0.5sq mm wire (approx. 6 to 7 mm).

- Slip crimp connectors over ends of wires and crimp on both sides using crimping tool.

Do not crimp insulation on wires.

Make sure that correct crimping slot is used (red color code for 0.5sq mm wires).

- After crimping, shrink down crimp connector using hot-air blower.

Heat crimp connector from center outward until it is completely sealed and adhesive emerges.

Set hot air blower to correct temperature (refer to operating manual).

When heating connector, take care not to damage any other wiring, plastic parts or insulating material with hot nozzle.
- If repair wire was previously wrapped, yellow insulating tape must again be wound around this point; re-attach wire with a cable tie if necessary.
