Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments



Multi-function TR switch - F125 -, adjusting, 09G, 6 Speed A/T
- Shift selector lever into position "N".
- Switch ignition off.





- Disconnect hose - 5 - from air cleaner housing.





- Use screwdriver to press selector lever cable - 1 - off lever/selector shaft - 6 -.

Note:
^ Do not loosen bolt - 2 -.
^ Do not kink selector lever cable.





- Remove lever/selector shaft - 1-.
- Loosen both bolts -B-.

Note: Do not fully unscrew bolts.





- Install adjustment gauge T10173 on selector shaft.





- Turn multi-function TR switch -A- until tab of connector (arrow - 1 -) engages in groove of adjustment gauge T10173.

If the tab of the connector cannot engage in the groove of the adjustment gauge, the transmission is no longer in the "N" position. In this case, switch the transmission to the "N" position using the adjustment gauge. To do this:

- Turn adjustment gauge forward or backward, as appropriate, until tab of connector (arrow - 1 -) is able to engage in groove of adjustment gauge T10173 (also turn multi-function TR switch -A- slightly, if necessary).
- Secure adjustment gauge T10173 on selector shaft with knurled screw -C-.
- Tighten both bolts -B- to 5.5 Nm.
- Remove adjustment gauge from selector shaft.

The remaining installation steps are performed in the reverse sequence:





- Install lever/selector shaft - 1 -.

Tightening torque of nuts - 3 -: 12.5 Nm





- Press selector lever cable - 1 - onto lever/selector shaft - 6 -.

Note:
^ It may be necessary to shift the lever/selector shaft to the right position to be able to press on the selector lever cable.
^ Do not kink selector lever cable.





- Connect hose - 5 - to air cleaner housing.
- Check setting of selector lever cable.
