Compressor to Bracket, Removing and Installing
Compressor To Bracket, Removing And Installing
NOTE:
- The compressor can be removed and installed from the bracket without opening the refrigerant lines.
- Do not discharge the refrigerant circuit, and do not loosen or remove refrigerant lines from compressor.
- After removal fasten compressor to long member (e.g. using a wire). Do not let compressor hang from refrigerant lines.
- Mark direction of rotation of ribbed belt using chalk or felt-tip marker. Reversing the direction of rotation of a used belt can destroy the belt.
- Different compressors are installed depending on engine and country variant.
- The illustration shows the compressor on a 4-cylinder gas Turbo engine. On different engine variants the arrangement deviates only slightly from this illustration (e.g. different refrigerant lines).
- Remove noise insulation:
- Move the lock carrier into service position:
- Remove oil filter. Protect sealing surface from damage (only on vehicles with 6-cylinder gas engine):
- Remove bolts -A- (25 Nm).
NOTE:
- Install one washer -B- on each bolt -A-.
- Before fastening the compressor, make sure both bushings -C-in bracket or compressor are seated correctly.
- After mounting the compressor, make sure refrigerant lines -A-, lines are engaged in bracket -B-.
- After mounting the compressor, make sure the refrigerant lines and brackets have sufficient gap between other components. On vehicles with 6 cylinder engines make sure there is enough space between belt, bracket and belt pulley.
