Cover And Padding (fixed Backrest), Removing And Installing







1 - Fixed rear backrest
- Remove fixed rear backrest.
- Remove center armrest.
- Detach hooks - 2 - at the side and at cutout for center armrest
- Cut through upholstery clips - 3 -.
- Roll backrest cover fabric - 4 - forward.
- Pry fastening strip out of fastening groove - 5 - at cut-outs for head restraints.
- Lift seat cover fabric - 4 - and cut through upholstery clips (inset - A -).







- Use VAG 1634 stapling tool to install new upholstery clips.
- When installing a new backrest panel, bend retaining tabs - 6 - inward approx. 1-2 mm to provide better support for fastening strip.
- When installing, staple transverse rods first, then longitudinal rods.
- When installing new backrest cover, cut out holes for head restraints and center armrest attachment.
