Affected Vehicles
37 Vehicle in emergency running mode, Tiptronic feature nonfunctional (DTC 18152)
Condition
Vehicle in emergency running mode accompanied by the following:
- Selector lever indicator (PRNDL) light fully illuminated.
- Tiptronic feature does not function.
- DTC 18152 Tiptronic switch (F189) short circuit to ground.
Technical Background
May be caused by a Tiptronic switch (F189) printed circuit board electrical failure.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
Replace Tiptronic switch (F189) item -6- with Part No. as follows:
- A4 All Wheel Drive: 8E1 713 243D
- A4 Front Wheel Drive: 8E1 713 243C
