Spinning washer, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Thrust piece VW 473:

Thrust plate VW 401:

Replacing spinning washer





- Carefully pry off spinning washer - 1 - using a screwdriver or similar.
- Position spinning washer on wheel hub.





- Apply special tools as shown in illustration.
1. Thrust piece VW 473
2. Assembly tool T40089/1
3. Spinning washer
4. Wheel hub
5. Thrust plate VW 401

- Press on spinning washer as far as radius on wheel hub using assembly tool T40089/1 as illustrated.

Note:
^ The spinning washer must be flush with the wheel bearing flange.
