90 Instrument Cluster: Service Interval Programming

Affected Vehicles

Condition

Maintenance Service Intervals (time and mileage adaptation values) must be reset as a part of the regularly scheduled maintenance.

Brand CD 10.53 includes a new procedure to reset the service interval cluster warning, mileage and day service interval for the TT (A2), A3 (AB2), A6 (C6), A8 (D3), Audi Q7, R8 and any models produced after model year 2008. The new procedure for the A4 (B7) and Cabriolet (B7) will be included first in Brand CD 10.54.

Technical Background

The mileage interval settings must be changed from 5,000 miles to 10,000 miles and/or the time interval settings from 180 days to 365 days at the first maintenance. If these settings are not changed, the Service Reminder Interval warning in the cluster will activate at the odometer reading of approximately 10,000 miles or 180 days from the first service. This will cause the customer to unnecessarily return to have the warning turned off.

Production Solution

Not applicable.

Service

R8, TT (A2), A3 (AB2), A6 (C6), A8 (D3), Audi Q7 and all models produced after Model Year 2008

Reset the Service Reminder and the mileage and day interval parameters in one plan by selecting in the testers (Minimum Brand CD Level 10.53): GF >> Service Work >> J285 - Instr. Cluster, ext.service intervals resetting.

NOTE:
The A4 and Cabriolet (B7) will be able to be set using this procedure starting with Brand CD 10.54.

For all older models

If a vehicle comes in at an interval when no service is required (e.g. 10,000 miles, or 15,000 miles) with the service reminder on, the service reminder must be reset along with the mileage and day interval adaptation parameters. These parameters must be set to the appropriate intervals according to the appropriate Audi Service Circular for that vehicle.

This can be carried out in the Guided Functions >> Service Work section.
