Crash Sensor For Front Side Airbag (Pressure Sensors), Removing And Installing (Vehicles From 11.2004)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Torque wrench V.A.G 1410

Removing and installing







1 - Bolt (5 Nm)
2 - Crash sensor for front side airbag
- Drivers side: Driver-side side airbag crash sensor G179
- Passengers side: Passenger-side side airbag crash sensor G180

CAUTION: Observe safety precautions for working on airbags and precautionary measures for crash sensors (pressure sensors) for front side airbag.

- Removing
- Clamp off ground wire at battery with ignition switched off.
- Remove door trim.
- Disconnect electrical connector - 4 - on crash sensor.
- Remove screws - 1 - and - 3 -.
- Remove crash sensor for front side airbag.

- Installing
Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:
- Switch on ignition.

CAUTION: No one should be in vehicle when connecting battery.

- Connect battery ground strap.
- Follow measures after connecting battery.

NOTE: If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and then checked again.
