Transmission Output Speed (RPM) Sensor -G195- (Automatic Transmission 01V), Checking

Test requirements:
- Ignition switched off.

NOTE:
- The specified values indicated are valid for an ambient temperature range of 10-40 degrees C.
- If the values obtained differ from the specified values, determine the malfunction using the applicable wiring diagram.
- If the readings obtained differ only slightly from the specified values, clean sockets and connectors of the testers and test leads and repeat test.

Test sequence
- Connect V.A.G 1598/20 test box to wiring harness of Transmission Control Module (TCM).

- Connect multimeter to test box sockets for resistance measurement as follows:

NOTE:
- If results deviate from specified value, repair open circuit in wiring according to wiring diagram and check harness connector for contact corrosion, ingress of water and leaks.
- If this test of the wire connections resulted in no impermissible deviations, Transmission Output Speed (RPM) Sensor -G195- (also called Transmission Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) -G38-) must be replaced
