Compressor, 4- or 6-Cylinder

Removing

- Drain refrigerant circuit.

- Disconnect refrigerant lines from compressor. Refer to => [ Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting and Connecting from Compressor ] Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting and Connecting From Compressor.

- Remove compressor from bracket. Refer to => [ Compressor, Removing from Bracket ] Compressor, Removing From Bracket.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following:

- Check the type of seal at the connections and the refrigerant lines. These must be designed for the same type of seal. Refer to => [ Refrigerant Line to Component Connections ] Refrigerant Circuit, Servicing

Before installing compressor. Refer to => Heating and Air Conditioning Heating and Air Conditioning

An uncertain quantity of refrigerant oil remains in a removed compressor, therefore observe notes for replacing the compressor.

- Tightening torques and O-ring seals. Refer to => [ Compressor, Removing from Bracket ] Compressor, Removing From Bracket and => [ Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting and Connecting from Compressor ] Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting and Connecting From Compressor.

- Re-install remaining components removed.

- Evacuate and re-charge refrigerant circuit.

- Run the A/C system after installing the compressor. Refer to => [ Running A/C System After Installing Compressor ] Running A/C System After Installing Compressor
