Affected Vehicles





Condition

This RVU has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:

MIL on and DTC P310B and/or P129F stored in the ECM data memory.

This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect until June 30, 2010. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.

Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:

^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the CL/24M4 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.

^ Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.

^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.

^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.

Technical Background

A malfunction of fuel pressure sensor G410 (low pressure side) may cause an incorrect fuel pressure reading from the ECM.

Improved fuel pressure sensor G410 (low pressure side).

Service

Replace fuel pressure sensor G410 (low pressure side). See ElsaWeb for component location.

Installation torque:

^ 2.0 TFSI engine: 15 Nm.

^ 3.2 FSI engine: 15 Nm.

^ 4.2 V8 FSI and 5.2 V10 FSI engine: 22 Nm.





Note:
To prevent damage to the engine cover in A3 and TT models, the engine cover stops must be removed in the sequence illustrated in Figure 1.

Be sure to include the affected VINs with your order. Prior to submitting your request, ensure that each vehicle has the CL/24M4 code open in ElsaWeb. Your order will be reviewed and processed accordingly.
