Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module

- If the control module was replaced, select the replace function for the respective control module in guided fault finding or guided functions.

- Select the function or path:





- Follow the instructions on the vehicle diagnosis tester display.

Removing





- Remove the steering column switch module. Refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Module ] Steering Column Switch Module.

Steering must be in center position (wheels in straight ahead position) when removing and installing coil connector with slip ring.

- Carefully release catches - arrows -.

- Pull return spring with slip ring - 2 - with steering angle sensor (G85) - 1 - off from steering column switch bolts (SCSM).

- Remove screws - arrows -.





- Remove steering column electronic systems control module (J527) - item 1 - from steering column switch module.

Installing

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Module Assembly Overview ] Steering Column Switch Module Assembly Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Make sure all fasteners and electrical connectors are properly engaged.

- Install the steering column switch module. Refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Module ] Steering Column Switch Module.

If steering column electronic systems control module was replaced, it must be coded.

- Select the function or path:





- Follow the instructions on the vehicle diagnosis tester display.
