Lower A-Pillar Trim





1 Lower A-pillar Trim Panel

• Removing

- Remove instrument panel cover. Refer to => [ Instrument Panel Cover, Removing and Installing ] Bar Piece.

- Remove bar piece. Refer to => [ Bar Piece ] Bar Piece.

- Remove hood cable operating lever => [ Hood cable operating lever, removing and installing ].

- Remove the bolt - 8 -.

Vehicles with signal light holder (Japan)

- Remove the bolts - 6 -.

- Remove signal light holder - 7 -.

Procedure for all vehicles

- Remove the upper B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Upper B-Pillar Trim ] Upper B-Pillar Trim

- Remove lower B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower B-Pillar Trim ] Lower B-Pillar Trim.

- Unclip the lower A-pillar trim beginning at the rear.

- Pull the lower A-pillar trim back from the footrest cover - 3 -.

- Remove the lower A-pillar trim.

• Installing

- Check clamps - 9 - (quantity: 3) for damage and deformity.

Replace damaged or deformed clamps.

- Before installing the lower A-pillar trim, make sure the clips - 9 - are positioned correctly.

- Slide the lower A-pillar trim into the footrest cover profile - 3 -.

- Clip lower A-pillar trim - 1 - in with clamps - 9 - (quantity: 3).

- Tighten the screw - 8 -.

Ensure lower A-pillar trim - 1 - is held securely.

- Install lower B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower B-Pillar Trim ] Lower B-Pillar Trim.

- Install the upper B-pillar trim.

• Audi A6, refer to => [ Upper B-Pillar Trim ] Upper B-Pillar Trim.

Vehicles with signal light holder (Japan)

- Install signal light holder - 7 -.

- Tighten the screws - 6 -.

Procedure for all vehicles

- Install hood cable operating lever.

- Install bar piece. Refer to => [ Bar Piece ] Bar Piece.

- Install instrument panel cover. Refer to => [ Instrument Panel Cover, Removing and Installing ] Bar Piece.

- Install door seal lip over lower A-pillar trim.

Quantity: 2

• Tightening specification 1.8 Nm

• For signal light holder => [ (Item 7) Signal Light Holder ]

7 Signal Light Holder

• Not for North American market.

8 Bolt

• Tightening specification 2.5 Nm

9 Clamps

Quantity: 3

• Replace if damaged or deformed

Hood cable operating lever, removing and installing





Removing

- Pull operating lever - 1 - and release hood.

- Insert small screwdriver - 2 - in gap - arrow - between operating lever - 1 - and clip - 3 -.

- Remove clip - 3 - from operating lever - 1 - and pull operating lever off.

Installing

- Slide clip - 3 - completely into operating lever - 1 -.

- Push operating lever - 1 - onto mount in mounting bracket and lock the operating lever.

Ensure clip - 3 - engages with a click.

- Before closing hood, check function of operating lever and release.
