Upper B-Pillar Trim

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim removal wedge (3409)

CAUTION!

1 Upper B-pillar Trim

• Removing

Vehicles with upper B-pillar vent

- Unclip vent - 8 - from upper B-pillar trim - 1 -.

- Pull vent - 8 - upward at an angle out of B-pillar trim - 1 -.

- Disconnect electrical connector.

Procedure for all vehicles

- Unclip upper B-pillar trim - 1 - with (3409).

To do this, place (3409) on lower edge of B-pillar trim.

- Swing upper B-pillar trim - 1 - inward and at the same time, pull trim down and off.

- Remove outer seat belt anchorage point (on front seat). Refer to => [ Seat Belt Anchor ] Seat Belt Anchor.

- Guide belt webbing - 6 - out of upper B-pillar trim - 1 -.

• The "Airbag" sign on upper B-pillar trim - 1 - is welded on and cannot be removed.

• Installing

Follow installation sequence for upper B-pillar trim - 1 -.

- Guide belt webbing - 6 - into upper B-pillar trim - 1 -.

- Install outer seat belt anchorage point (on front seat). Refer to => [ Seat Belt Anchor ] Seat Belt Anchor.

Ensure belt webbing is not twisted.

CAUTION!
When installing upper B-pillar trim - 1 -, do not connect the side curtain airbag - 2 -.

- Engage upper B-pillar trim - 1 - in roof frame with tabs.

- Secure upper B-pillar trim - 1 - with pins (quantity: 2).

- Make sure the retaining pins - 5 - engage in the mount - 4 - on the seat belt height adjuster.

- Clip bottom of upper B-pillar trim - 1 - into belt guide - 7 -.

Vehicles with upper B-pillar vent

- Connect electrical harness connector.

- Engage underside of vent - 8 - in upper B-pillar trim - 1 -.

- Clip top side of vent - 8 - in upper B-pillar trim - 1 -.

Procedure for all vehicles

Ensure upper B-pillar trim - 1 - is held securely.

- Install door seal lip over upper B-pillar trim - 1 -.

- Check function of belt height adjuster.

• Seat belt height adjuster must engage with a click in each of the possible positions.

• Button must return to upper position by itself after being pressed.
