Rear Seat Backrest Cover and Upholstery, Fixed

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Upholstery clip pliers (V.A.G 1634)





1 Cover

• Removing

- Remove seat bench => [ Bench Seat ] Rear Seats.

- Remove the backrest => [ Rear Seat Backrest, Fixed ] Rear Seats.

- Remove center armrest=> [ Center Armrest, Fixed Rear Seat Backrest ] Rear Seats.

- Cut upholstery clips - 2 -.

On vehicles with side airbag:

- Pry fastening strip - 4 - out with a screwdriver.

- Remove bolts - 7 - (Qty. 2).

- Pull side airbag - 6 - downward out of protective cover - 5 -.

- Remove side airbag on opposite side the same way.

All:

- Remove cover and cushion from backrest frame.

- Install cover - 1 -.

- Cut upholstery clips - 2 -.

- Remove cover - 1 -.

• Installing

Install cover and upholstery in reverse order of removal. When doing so, note the following:

- When installing new upholstery clips, use Upholstery Clip Pliers (V.A.G 1634).

4 Retaining strip

5 Protective cover for side airbag

6 Side Airbag

7 Screws, (Qty. 2)

• Tightening specification 8 Nm
