HID Headlamps With Dynamic Cornering Light, Audi RS 6

HID Headlamp Bulbs

• Adjust the headlamps after performing any work that could have affected their adjustment.

CAUTION!
Risk of death due to high voltage, injury risk and environmental hazard.

Removing

- Remove headlamp housings. Refer to => [ Headlamp, when Reusing Current Headlamp ] Headlamp, when Reusing Current Headlamp.

- Release securing guides - arrows - and remove headlamp housing cover.





- If present, pivot securing clip - 1 - for electrical harness connector to side.





- Rotate ignition coil - 2 - for gas discharge lamp counter-clockwise - arrow -.

- Disconnect harness connector - 3 - at ignition coil for gas discharge lamp.

- Remove ignition coil for gas discharge lamp.

- Open the wire retainer - 1 -.





- Remove the HID bulb - 2 - out of headlamp housing.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Insert the new HID bulb into the housing without touching the bulb with bare hands.

• Observe installation position: Upper tab at bulb socket must engage at recess for gas discharge lamp.

- Secure gas discharge lamp using securing clip.

• Harness connector must only be connected with ignition coil installed.

- Check if recess in housing of ignition coil for gas discharge lamp and recess in pressure ring align completely with each other - arrows -.





- Attach ignition coil for gas discharge lamp to headlamp and fasten clockwise until stop.

• Ignition coil must turn freely.

• Arrow on housing points upward.

- Connect harness connector.

- If installed, secure electrical harness connector using securing clip.

- Close the housing lid.

- Install the headlamp housing. Refer to => [ Headlamp, when Reusing Current Headlamp ] Headlamp, when Reusing Current Headlamp.
