Refrigerant Line C

Refrigerant Line C

Removing

- Drain the refrigerant circuit.

- Remove the front bumper.

Remove the following components depending on the vehicle (not present in all versions).

- Remove the air intake unit (not necessary e.g. on vehicles with right-hand steering or the Audi RS6) => [ Air Intake Unit ] Air Intake Unit.

- Remove brake master cylinder and brake booster.

- Remove the left headlight

- Remove the hydraulic oil container for the power steering.

- Remove the hydraulic unit for ABS.

The brake master cylinder and brake booster have to be removed for the Audi RS6. For this reason, it is necessary to remove the air intake unit for this vehicle.

Depending on the engine, the coolant line from the A/C unit heat exchanger to the engine may also be routed through the grommet - D - (e.g. Audi RS6).

Continuation of work for all vehicles:

- Remove the refrigerant lines from the connection to the A/C unit => [ Refrigerant Lines at A/C Unit ] Refrigerant Lines at A/C Unit.

- Remove the brake lines from the brake master cylinder to the hydraulic unit (not necessary on vehicles with right-hand steering).

- Open the screw connection in the refrigerant line (between refrigerant line - A - and - B -) => [ Restrictor ] Restrictor (remove and install restrictor).

- Disconnect refrigerant line - C - from the connector at the reservoir=> [ Reservoir ] Service and Repair.

- Release the grommet - D - from the front wall of the plenum chamber.

- Remove refrigerant lines - A - and - C - together.

- Separate refrigerant lines - A - and - C - from one another.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following:

- Coat O-ring seals lightly with refrigerant oil before installing => [ Refrigerant Circuit O-Ring Seals ] Refrigerant Circuit O-Ring Seals.

- Following attachment, check routing of refrigerant pipes. They must be inserted in holders provided and not make contact with other components.

- Refill any fluids that were drained and bleed the respective vehicle systems.

- Evacuate and refrigerant circuit after assembly and refill.

- Check the DTC memory for the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head and erase any faults displayed if necessary.

- Operate the A/C system after filling the refrigerant circuit => [ A/C System, Operating after Filling Refrigerant Circuit ] A/C System, Operating after Filling Refrigerant Circuit
