Window Frame and Window Regulator
• Disconnect battery before disassembling window frame or door.
1 Window Frame
A Sensor For Side Airbag Is Located On Inside Of Door - Arrow -, Observe Safety Precautions For Airbag.
• Removal:
• Remove door trim.
• Disconnect electrical connectors.
• Remove window regulator motor. Refer to => [ Removing and Installing Window Regulator Motor ].
• Remove bolts - 4 - and - 6 -.
• Remove bolts - 7 - and - 8 - and lift window frame with window regulator upward and out of door.
• Installing:
• Drive window into window frame half way before installing.
• Insert window frame and window regulator into door from above.
• Knock in the upper profile halves of door-side gasket into window frame at top.
• Window frame can be adapted to the door by loosening the longitudinal adjustment screw - A - => [ Lateral Adjustment Screw ].
• Install the bolt - 4 - and tighten it hand-tight.
• Adjust the adjusting screw - Arrow a - using a 9 mm inner socket, so that it touches the door.
• Install the rear bolt - 6 -.
• Lightly press window frame - 1 - inward at top.
• Tighten collared shoulder bolts - 4 - to 32 Nm.
• Turn the screws using a 9 mm inner socket to adjust the longitudinal setting arrow - C - and the angle arrow - B -.
• Tighten bolts - 6 - to 32 Nm.
• If the longitudinal adjustment screw - Arrow b - had been loosened, it must now be tightened to 32 Nm.
• Tighten lower bolts - 7 - for window regulator to 6 Nm.
• Tighten upper bolts - 8 - to 6 Nm.
• For 3-door vehicles, check door adjustment using (T40038/3); for 5-door vehicles, check using (T40038/5).
• For door inclination adjustment, adjustment bushing - Arrow c - must only make contact on door plate.
• Window frame must not be adjusted by adjusting the adjustment bushing, rather window frame must first be pressed into the correct position and then adjustment bushing must contact inner door plate.
• Tighten all bolts in the specified sequence.
2 Window Regulator
• Bolted to window frame for installing in door.
3 Front Door
4 Bolt
• 32 Nm
• The bolts - 4 - always adjust the height of the window frame correctly.
• If it also necessary to adjust window frame height nevertheless, collared shoulder bolts can be replaced with standard bolts.
• Now, further adjustments to window frame height can be performed.
5 Cover
6 Bolt
• 32 Nm
7 Collar Screw
• 6 Nm
8 Bolt
• 6 Nm
9 Spacer
Longitudinal Adjustment Screw
- After collared shoulder bolts have been tightened, unscrew threaded sleeve - 2 - from window frame - 1 - until it stops using an allen wrench (width across flats 9 mm).
- Tighten the corresponding collar bolt to 32 Nm.
- Seal - 3 - is self-adhesive.
Lateral Adjustment Screw
- For lateral adjustment, adjustment bushing - 4 - can be adjusted and thus the window frame inclination.
• For door inclination adjustment, adjustment bushing - 4 - must only make contact on door plate.
• Window frame must not be adjusted by adjusting the adjustment bushing, rather window frame must first be pressed into the correct position and then adjustment bushing must contact inner door plate.
• Tighten all bolts in the specified sequence and to tightening specification. Refer to => [ Window Frame and Window Regulator ].
- Check position of window frame - 1 - using (T40038/3).
- Only if necessary, loosen longitudinal adjustment screw - 2 - if window frame must be fitted into door longitudinally.
- Seal - 3 - is self-adhesive.
Removing and Installing Window Regulator Motor
- To remove, unscrew bolts - 2 - and remove window regulator motor - 1 -.
- Install window regulator motor. Refer to => [ Window Regulator Motor ] Window Regulator Motor.
Upper Door Hinge
- (T 45) - 1 - ( installed from interior of vehicle ) 32 Nm.
- Upper door hinge - 2 -.
- Cover cap - 3 -.
- (T 45) - 4 - 32 Nm.
- Fitting bolt - 5 - (T 45) 32 Nm.
Lower Door Hinge
- (T 45) - 1 - 32 Nm bolted to B-pillar from interior of vehicle.
- Lower door hinge - 2 -.
- Cover cap - 3 -.
- (T 45) - 4 - 32 Nm.
- Fitting bolt (T 45) - 5 - 32 Nm.
- Re-grease lubrication points - Arrows - in service interval.
- Front door - 6 -.
